I’m just going to create a grid not found in the text and apply it to the text to make the answers come out on my side.” He’s not saying that. Rather, he is saying, “It’s in the Bible. Read the Bible. It’s there.” “Allegory” does not have to signal an external grid, as in Philo’s reading of Old Testament narrative. That which is allēgoroumena is simply another
